What is a “Soft Life” and why are so many women choosing to live it? A Soft Life is a lifestyle that focuses on living harmoniously with the natural rhythms of life. It is an approach to everyday living that is relaxed, peaceful, and centered around self-love. This lifestyle encourages women to prioritize their physical and mental health, as well as build meaningful relationships, pursue their passions, and invest in themselves. By living with intention and creating a life that aligns with their values, women can live meaningful and fulfilling lives.
Soft Living encourages self-care over self-sacrifice, pursuing joy over perfectionism, and connecting with nature for healing and restoration. It is about being in tune with your body’s needs and honoring them so that you can live your best life.

Women today are choosing to create a Soft Life for themselves because it allows them to focus on their own well-being, rather than the demands of others. By making time for small pleasures, nourishing activities, and meaningful relationships, women can feel more connected with themselves and their surroundings. This makes it easier for them to make choices that honor their values and desires, rather than feeling like they are constantly compromising. A Soft Life is about listening to your inner voice, trusting your intuition, and honoring what truly matters. By doing this, women can create a life that is deeply rooted in joy, peace, and fulfillment.
Here are a few tips to get you started on your Soft life journey:
Wear clothes that make you feel comfortable and beautiful
When I decided to overhaul my life, one of the first places I started was with my loungewear and sleepwear. Why? Because I have always believed that when you look good, you feel good. Debate me all you want, but I live by this one!
So I started to purchase pretty, feminine pieces to replace my old ratty, and raggedy house clothes. Now, I didn’t throw it all away… because there is absolutely one week out of the month when I need to be at optimal comfortableness. But, for the other three weeks I am wearing clothes that make me feel beautiful and taken care of – because ultimately, I am taking care of myself.
Invest in some high-quality bedding that will make you feel pampered (Make your bed with luxurious sheets and fluffy pillows)
My bedroom is the Queen’s Domain. So it has to speak to me and my comfort level. When it comes to my bed I never skimp. I always purchase the pillow topper insert to create an ultra-plush sleeping experience. I also invest in high thread count sheets, premium pillows, and a luxe comforter that makes the queen feel like a princess.

Find a signature scent that you love
This is key! Maybe I should have placed this at #1…
A signature scent is a woman’s secret weapon. It’s the finishing touch you add to your wardrobe, and it can be that added pick-me-up throughout the day. Having a signature scent that reminds you and everyone else that you were there and that you left your mark is powerful.
When it comes to choosing a signature scent, think about what makes you feel empowered, sexy, and confident. Do you prefer floral, citrus, or spicy? Whatever your preference is, find something that speaks to you and use it as the finishing touches for all of your stylish looks.
For me, I love light, floral scents like gardenia or lavender. And when I’m feeling extra luxurious, I love adding a hint of jasmine into my mix. My point is – find a scent that speaks to you and makes you feel good.
Play relaxing music in the background to set the mood
I am a woman who loves many different genres of music. It has always been my go-to when I want to feel relaxed and creative. Music can set the tone for whatever mood you want to create, so why not use it to your advantage?
Letting a gentle melody play in the background while you get ready, work or just relax is key. Instead of going for our “Trap Legacy” playlist on Spotify, which can keep you in that hustler’s mentality. Try checking out our playlist titled “The Chill List“. Calming, smooth, and relaxing music to help you transition into that Soft Life groove.
Install dimmer switches so you can control the mood lighting in your home
When I bought my home in 2017, one of the first modifications I made before moving in was installing recessed lights and a dimmer switch in my bedroom. (Even as a child I remember playing with my grandmother’s dimmer switch). It just creates the perfect ambiance to get in that Comfort Zone.
I highly recommend installing dimmer switches – especially if you have recessed lights or multiple light fixtures installed throughout your home. One-click and you can go from bright daytime lighting to romantic nighttime lighting. It’s a win-win!
Set up a vanity area where you can get ready for dates or special events
If a bedroom vanity doesn’t scream femininity, I don’t know what else does…
Alisha Todd
Having this dedicated vanity area will help create an atmosphere of glamour and sophistication – something that will make you feel confident and ready to conquer the world.
Whether it’s a small corner of your bedroom, or an entire room dedicated to your beauty rituals, having this area can also help you stay organized. You can easily store all of your makeup and beauty products in one spot so you know where everything is when you’re getting ready in the morning or for that special occasion.
Use scented candles and potpourri to create a relaxing atmosphere
Outside of coming home to a made-up bed, which is the best! Walking into your home and being greeted by a pleasant scent is my absolute favorite.
Scented candles and potpourri are an easy way to make your home smell great. Whether you prefer floral, citrus, or musky scents – find something that speaks to you and have fun with it! Plus, it’s very affordable so don’t be afraid to try out different scents and find the one that’s perfect for you.
When I choose my fragrances, I pick scents based on the location I plan on using them. For example, a fresh sea breeze scent for the bathroom, and Cashmere woods for the bedroom.
Add plants to your home to help purify the air
*Cough*, to my beautiful, sidity smokers… get yourselves some plants.
I know, I know – plants don’t necessarily scream femininity, (and neither does smoking, sis).
But here’s the thing: plants can help improve air quality and reduce stress levels in your home.
Green plants like peace lilies, aloe vera, snake plants, and spider plants are great for purifying the air. They also add a hint of nature to your home, which is especially great if you’re living in an urban area. Not to mention they look good!
So while you’re creating the ultimate Comfort Zone, try adding a few plants throughout your space. They can do wonders for your overall well-being and make you feel more relaxed in your home.
Indulge in a relaxing bath at the end of a long day
As you know, our flagship products are bath & spa treatments that make you feel indulgent and pampered. I wanted to create safe, clean products that we could use as a vessel to remind ourselves to take time out to relax and rejuvenate – something that can be hard to do when we’re so overwhelmed with life.
Whether it’s a bubble bath with essential oils or a salt soak with rose petals – these little luxuries create a soft and soothing atmosphere that helps to relax your mind and body.
Taking a basic calm bath or an elaborate spa experience can do wonders for the soul.
Surround yourself with things that make you happy
Making time for simple pleasures can help you stay in tune with yourself and your body. Take small 15-minute mini-breaks to refresh your attitude, talk to God and take a moment to just thank him for the things in your life. Practicing appreciation and gratitude can help restore balance and remind you of all the things in your life that make you happy. It can also remind you of how far you have actually come and all the tiny moments of joy that have helped shape who you are today.
Fill your home with things that make you smile – whether it’s art, photos, or books. Even if they don’t always match the aesthetic of your home, just having them around can keep you in a good headspace and help slow down time.
What can we summarize?
Creating a home that is comfortable for you doesn’t have to be expensive or time-consuming. You can make it as simple or elaborate as you’d like – and the best part is, it will continue to grow and change as you do.
Remember, creating a softer life starts with creating a space that is comfortable for you and inspires positive vibes. So take care of yourself, be creative, and enjoy the journey.
Happy creating!
